Carson has been a handful this weekend. Having a child with autism requires so much patience and most of the time Billy and I have a lot of patience but this weekend our patience has really been tested. Carson has been very hyper active. I talked to his teacher about it and asked if she thought we should get further testing done to see if he has ADD or ADHD but she said she doesnt think so. She told us that he is just a boy but goodness he is just non stop! He never sits still and he is always into something. He is more work then his 1-year old sister. Some of this behavior might be normal for a 3-year old boy but I just think he is so hyper active and very hard to control sometimes. We just havent been able to catch a break this weekend between the 2 kids. We have tried to keep Carson busy but its really difficult. I tried to sit down and play candyland with him this morning but that was a nightmare. He just wanted to sit in the box and chew on the cards. I always have to remind myself that just because he is 3 doesnt mean he is able to function and do things that other 3-year olds do. We bought him Candy Land for Christmas and on the box it says for ages 3+ but Carson is not a typical 3year old and he has absolutley no concept of sitting down to play a game. He is still so very delayed and behind. He continues to make progress everyday but we still have a very long road ahead of us!
